A fun day in Tucson!!!!

Yesterday, I took the day off of work, and Norah & I drove to Tucson to visit my dearest friend Kristin and the latest addition to her family!! Tess was born in February in MN, and took her first (of many, I'm sure) airplane ride to AZ last week. We were so lucky to get to meet her, Kristin even prompted Norah to tell me she wanted a sister. That's a whole other post....The weather was beautiful, although we did seem to think it was a little too warm while we spent some time at the Desert Sonoran Museum. Norah had so much fun following Tanner around (he is 5 and acted so much like a big brother to her,) while they looked at snakes, gila monsters, and other desert wildlife. It was so much fun to catch up and spend time with the little ones. Thanks again Kristin and Trudy for a fun day!!

Texas

Scott and Norah got home this morning (about 10 hours later than planned...)- they had a wonderful trip and even Norah was full of stories...not a whole lot made sense, but what I understood was: Grammy, Goppa Steve, Uncle Joe, Aunt Cindi, Hannah Emma.....fun...Jake, Mango ....fishing.....of course, when I asked her to SLOW down, it made sense, and she was sure to point everyone out to me on the video that was taken.
I posted some pics on our Picasa site, so you will see that they also went fishing, saw Hannah participate in her Spelling Bee (and take 3rd place, congrats Hannah!!),as well as -most importantly- see and spend time with family...a much overdue trip!!
SOOOO on the way OUT of town (from Port Lavaca to Austin) yesterday, Joe blew a tire on his truck, so that put them a little behind schedule, and then closer to Austin, there was an accident that held up traffic...Scott and Norah were at the airport with only a little time to spare HOWEVER there was only ONE person checking in luggage, and by the time Scott & Norah got through the line, it was TOO Late. So Norah & Scott had the joy of spending one more night in TX- not too bad, but they had to be at the airport BY 4 am in order to get in line for stand-by for the first 6 am flight...they did, but didn't get on. They made the 7:05 am flight, though, and then were able to get on the first connecting flight in Dallas...Needless to say, they WERE SO HAPPY to FINALLY get home!!!

Texas Trip

This morning, I took Scott and Norah to the Phoenix Airport- they boarded a plane and traveled to Austin, TX, where Scott's Mom (Grammy) and her husband (Grampa Steve)picked them up. From there, they traveled down to Port Lavaca, which is where Scott's brother and his family lives, as well as Grammy and Grampa Steve. They will be there until Friday night- late...
WOW- I don't think I've ever been away from Norah for so long. I have to say- the house is so quiet...which is fine, I have 2 mid-terms this weekend.
We'll definitely post the pics when they get back, I'm sure there will be a lot! Norah had a lot of fun last summer with her cousin, Hannah, so I'm sure this week will be just as fun, with Hannah and Emma!!
